NBA All-Star Deron Williams


Turkish team Besiktas says it is close to reaching a deal with NBA All-Star guard Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets, Besiktas manager Murat Murtezaoglu told the Associated Press yesterday. Jeff Schwartz, Williams’s agent, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment. The 6-foot-9-inch, 265-pound Kemp is the son of former Seattle SuperSonics star Shawn Kemp.

Turkish team Besiktas is close to reaching a deal with locked-out NBA All-Star guard Deron Williams, coach Ergin Ataman told the state-run news agency.

Financial terms weren't disclosed. Keating is now signed through the 2014-15 season. The Broncos were 24-14 last season and return their top three scorers, including Kevin Foster (20.2 points per game).

Deron Williams, an all-star guard with the New Jersey Nets, has agreed to play with the Turkish basketball team Besiktas during the NBA lockout, according to several media reports.

Former 76ers star Allen Iverson joined Besiktas after he failed to land with an NBA team last season. FOOTBALL: The United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks added running back Maurice Clarett to the active roster. Clarett spent last season with the team. The former Ohio State star spent 31/2 years in prison for holding up two people outside a Columbus, Ohio, bar in 2006.
